ややハードな乗り味は好みが分かれる点
初の両側スライドドアを携えて登場した5代目オデッセイの、ハイパフォーマンスグレードであるアブソルートのFF仕様に試乗した。
まず、強く印象に残ったのはハンドリング。二回り小さなスポーツセダンのようにヴィヴィッドだ。電動パワーステアリングの切り込んだ後の戻り具合も良い。ねっとりとした油圧パワーステアリングのようなフィールの良さが感じられる。
昨今のホンダはスポーティな味付けが売りのひとつであるが、オデッセイがここまでコンフォートをスポイルしてハンドリングに振るのは想像していなかった。
剛性を高めたブッシュ類によってハンドリングの雑味を抑制するとともに、路面からのインフォメーションがドライバーに伝わり、意のままに操縦することができる。一方で、サスペンションが吸収できない振動が乗員に振れとなって表れる。このセッティングには一長一短があり、ミニバンに求める乗り心地としては好みが分かれるだろう。
両側スライドドアを装着しながら、ここまでボディ剛性を向上させたのは評価できる。剛性を上げた分の重量増による横揺れを最小限に抑えるセッティングも施されている。
だが、高速走行時におけるリアサスペンション取り付け部の車内側からの振動は消しきれず、乗員はそれをジャブのように感じ続けることになる。

Was test drive of fifth generation Odyssey that appeared to hand in sliding doors on both sides for the first time , the FF specification of the Absolute is a high-performance grade .
First , was impressed strong handling . It's Vivid as a small sports sedan about two . Return condition after you've cut the electric power steering is also good . I can feel the goodness of feel like hydraulic power steering , which was soggy .
Honda in recent years is one seasoning sporty selling , but to shake handling Odyssey will spoil the comfort far you did not imagine .
It may be to suppress the unpleasant taste of the handling by the bushes with higher stiffness , the information from the road surface is transmitted to the driver to steer at will . On the other hand , it appears as is vibration that can not be absorbed by the suspension and swing to the occupant . There are pros and cons to this setting , preference will split as a ride asking the minivan .
While wearing the sliding doors on both sides , wherein to the improved body rigidity can be evaluated . Setting to minimize the roll by weight increase for the amount of increase the rigidity has also been given.
