美國    一周內再發生大批死鳥從天而降事件，今次是在路易斯安那州。

路易斯安那州野生動物和漁業部門的沃特金斯說，約500隻鳥屍被發現死在Pointe Coupee Parish。

沃特金斯說，當局正在調查雀鳥的死因。數天前，鄰近的阿肯色州發生5000鳥屍從天而降的事件。

她說：「我們已經把樣本送到密蘇里州的實驗室，正等待結果。」

路易斯安那州獸醫拉科表示，鳥兒可能撞到電線死亡。拉科指出，其中有50隻死鳥在電線旁發現，而另外400多隻死鳥在大約四分之一英里外被發現，躺在路面上。

阿肯色州畢比鎮數天前有5000隻燕八哥死亡，在160公里以外的阿肯色河，又發現十萬條魚屍漂浮，該州的魚類委員會官員萊德貝特說，正等待死因檢測結果。但她表示：「我們仍然不相信魚和鳥的死亡有關。」對於路易斯安那州的鳥屍，她也表示，不認為兩者有關。

官員較早前表示，可能是除夕煙花引起的干擾，導致鳥兒在黑暗中飛行。由於燕八哥的夜視能力很差，可能是在恐懼中撞到房屋、樹木或其他鳥類死亡。

阿肯色州的官員說，初步測試認為，沒有迹象顯示鳥兒死於疾病，死因可能是「急性身體創傷」

繼美國    之後，瑞典    亦有雀鳥離奇集體死亡，在西部城市法爾雪平，有五十隻寒鴉倒斃在街上，獸醫指，這批雀鳥死亡的原因未明，但當地在星期二晚曾燃放煙花，可能令到雀鳥驚恐，加上寒冷天氣，難以覓食，在緊張下以致暴斃，當局檢走部份雀屍檢驗。

美國阿肯色州一個小鎮日前有三千多隻雀鳥離奇死亡後，路易斯安那州的一條公路，亦發現大約五百隻同類雀鳥，墮地死亡，專家估計，在阿肯色州死亡的雀鳥，是被除夕煙花的爆炸聲及強光嚇倒，以致失去方向感，亂飛亂撞致死。
