政府就增加汽車首次登記稅願意讓步後，多個政黨表示歡迎，但民主黨的甘乃威堅持反對增加加汽車首次登記稅。

立法會條例草案委員審議政府的汽車首次登記稅的建議前，政府提出，考慮部分車主訂購新車時，並不知道政府提出增加首次登記稅的建議，所以在增加稅率前已訂車的車主，可支付舊稅率，但這需證明文件。

民建聯立法會議員陳克勤歡迎政府最新的建議，他表示該黨傾向支持修訂。

公民黨的余若薇認為，政府最初的徵稅建議對剛購買新車的車主亦不公平，而新建議令部分車主能受惠，公民黨會考慮是否支持。

自由黨的方剛稱，雖然庫房有大量盈餘下不應加稅，但該黨支持政府作出修訂。

民主黨的甘乃威堅持反對增加加汽車首次登記稅，認為對紓緩交通擠塞幫助不大。(即時新聞)

I brought RK1 two week before , can I can the refund by the new terms of "環保汽油私家車的首次登記稅寬減由30%及每輛5萬元寬減上限，調高至45%及每輛7.5萬元為寬減上限。" ?
