WGN is hybrid in the full model change in 2014
Honda is developing a next model toward a full model change in 2014 of WGN. The next model to be the fifth generation in total, will be a hybrid grade finally appeared.
Hybrid system to be installed in the next step wagon, the same type shall be installed in the new Accord to be released around November 2012 to 12 this year. This is a system that is very different from IMA hybrid and Fit Hybrid Honda Insight has been sold so far.
2 motor 1 clutch system is adopted, the new hybrid system has been developed for a large vehicle in which is mounted next to the WGN, the total motor output 120kW. This compared with that insight was 10kW, I know that the system has increased in size. By this powerful electric motor, it can also be run without using the gasoline engine EV if the short range.

Secondary batteries, lithium-ion battery is employed. Become compact, high-output type than conventional nickel-metal hydride battery.
Part gasoline engine, direct injection 2.0L Atkinson cycle engine newly developed is adopted.
WGN next fiscal year, will be the usual lineup of affordable model 2.0L engine in addition to the hybrid grade, but it's expected to be fuel-efficient direct injection system of the engine here.

WGN is likely to be the most common hybrid fuel economy
If you look at competing models, a 2.0L hybrid minivan class was untouched until now is becoming a boom.
In the summer of this year, to debut a hybrid grade Nissan Serena is the first class. However, this is a simplified hybrid system, you can not expect much fuel efficiency. Next year and then in 2013, it is planning to launch a hybrid Toyota Noah and Voxy made with THS Ⅱ.
WGN hybrid will be the last release of most competitors in the car, the clutch motor and lithium-ion battery is not an advantage to Toyota's THS Ⅱ. Fuel efficiency is going to be the best.
