I think win 7 is much more better than Vista (although I haven't use it daily)......very fast system startup + application startup....It can boot up in 15-20sec (until harddisk light off) on my netbook 901 (which equipped with N270 1.6Mhz / 2GB ram only) unbelievable......And all effects can be turned on (including Aero) and speed is also acceptable, worth to try.....But eat up 11GB after MS office 07 + all patches

Power consumption still relatively terrible (compare with xp) as long as I enabled all effects.
Roughly calculation:
XP(no effects): 5.5Hrs
Win7(all effects): 4Hrs
