there is a recommended tire pressure sticker on the door frame, you may use it as a reference. And depends on the loading of the car, higher loading require higher pressure.

max should be 55... 48 still ok in winter

after running, the tire pressure can be increase by 10 PSI...in fact, not all the tire has max 55psi....some are only 50psi

And most important is not higher the better, so from my understanding, there is no point to make it so high.
